Human glomerular microvascular endothelial cells (HGMECs) cover the luminal surface of glomerular capillaries and function to regulate vasomotor tone, blood hemostasis, and filtration of leukocytes. Glomerular endothelial cells are usually flattened and have characteristic 50-100 nm fenestrae which contribute to the permeability of the glomerular filtration barrier. HGMECs express bioactive molecules to modulate local milieu and to cross-talk with other glomerular cells, including vasoactive factors, thrombotic regulators and inflammatory modulators. Due to its vital role in blood filtration, dysfunction of the HGMECs is closely associated with pre-eclampsia, thrombotic microangiopathies, diabetic nephropathy, proteinuria, and glomerulosclerosis.
Why choose Human Glomerular Microvascular Endothelial Cells from AcceGen?
HGMECs are isolated from human kidneys using AcceGen??s advanced technology. Cells at passage one are cryopreserved with each vial contains more than 5??10^5 cells in 1ml volume. HGMECs are tested for expression of endothelial specific markers vWF/Factor VIII and/or??CD31 using immunofluorescence. HGMECs are guaranteed for further expansion of 5 populations following protocols provided by AcceGen.
